Mission Statement

To improve access to special education for vulnerable children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs) in Bangladesh (particularly in the Sylhet Division);

Specific objectives:

1. To establish and operate at least one model school for autism in an under-served area that showcases appropriate and transferrable best practice from the UK (especially Phoenix) and is low cost and replicable for scaling up;
2. To continue to improve standards in existing special schools in the Sylhet Division by supporting teachers, support staff, and parents with training, resources, and professional mentoring;
3. To provide technical assistance and specialist training to government policy makers and trainers by continuing to support the Government of Bangladesh’s National Academy for Autism for Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NAAND) and other relevant departments for national impact.
